Vanessa Jacka

Portfolio Manager, Brunel Pension Partnership

Vanessa is a Portfolio Manager at Brunel Pension Partnership, responsible for Brunel’s clients’ UK property fund management.  Brunel has ten LGPS clients in the south-west who are in the process of transferring funds to Brunel on a discretionary management basis, thus aiming to achieve better net risk-adjusted performance returns through scale investing.

Prior to joining Brunel in 2018, Vanessa worked for eight years at Derbyshire Pension Fund as a Fund Manager, managing both the investment of the indirect property funds and part of Derbyshire’s direct UK equity exposure, including REITs.  She was also responsible for investment strategy for Developed Europe and for overseeing Derbyshire’s European Equity mandate, managed by UBS. 

From 2004 to 2010, Vanessa worked at Quilter in Birmingham as an Investment Manager, investing on a discretionary and advisory basis for charities, trusts and private clients.  She began her career in stockbroking with Grieveson Grant in 1982.   

Vanessa is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and an Investment Management Certificate holder.  She has an MA in English Literature from Trinity College, Cambridge.

Nick Knight

Executive Director - Valuation Advisory Services, CBRE UK

Nick is Executive Director - Valuation Advisory Services at CBRE UK. He has over 20 years experience in the industry, advising on commercial real estate in UK. Nick is based in London.

Nick advises owners, lenders and investors in direct real estate assets and debt in the UK. He advises on all sectors with the UK market with particular focus on Central London, Shopping Centres, Logisitics, Data centres and PRS. Advice includes vauation transactional due diligence, valuation for financial reporting, and valuation for secured lending and mortgage purposes.

Melville Rodrigues

Head – Real Estate Advisory, Apex Group

Melville's practice focuses on the launch and operation of funds, including funds which hold underlying real estate investments in the UK as well as internationally. The funds have attracted institutional, private and retail investors.

In addition to servicing clients, he has been involved in representing industry bodies in their dialogue with the Treasury and the FCA. He is a regular contributor to the real estate press.
