European Court of Auditors to conduct audit of investment funds sector

On 25 February the European Court of Auditors (ECA) launched an audit to assess the EU’s progress in creating a single market for investment funds.  The audit will examine whether the evolving set of rules is fit for purpose and whether the EU has promoted common supervisory practices among Member States and effectively mitigated risk to investors, markets and financial stability. It will cover all investment funds (UCITS and AIFs). The report is expected to be released in Q1 2022.
