AREF, together with the British Property Federation (BPF) and the Investment Property Forum (IPF), is currently exploring the creation of a new industry body – Real Estate:UK (RE:UK) – to provide a stronger, unified voice for the real estate investment sector.
As part of this process, AREF’s Fund Members were issued voting papers on Friday 19 July. The individual responsible for voting at each fund has been asked to confirm whether they support progressing this initiative.
This follows a period of detailed consideration by the Boards of AREF, BPF and IPF, who see this as an opportunity to better represent the evolving needs of the industry, support engagement with government and regulators, and respond to the changing nature of real estate investment.
Documents outlining the proposal and its context are available for members to view on our website here.
Assuming a positive vote, the three organisations will reconvene after the summer to begin detailed discussions on the practicalities of integration. AREF is committed to keeping all members updated as this develops.
