Bill Hughes

Bill Hughes

Chairman of PIA , Global Head of Real Assets at Legal & General Investment Management

Bill joined Legal & General in 2007 and is responsible for transforming its UK property fund management business into a global real assets platform.

Operating in both the direct investment and lending markets, today it actively invests and manages over £35bn of assets across real estate, infrastructure and corporate and alternative debt.

Bill continues to play an active role in several influential government and industry committees around responsible investing, infrastructure, urban regeneration and housing. He is a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and is on the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard (NZCBS) Governance Board. Bill is also Chair of the Property Industry Alliance (PIA), which brings together the UK’s leading property bodies to give them a stronger collective voice on issues such as policy, research and best practice.

Prior to joining Legal & General, Bill was CEO at RREEF UK (the Real Estate Fund Management business of DWS) and Head of Research and Deputy Managing Director at Schroder Property Investment Management.

 

David Partridge

David Partridge

Chair of the Governance Board of the UK NZCBS (the Standard), Chairman of Related Argent

David joined Argent in 1990, he was appointed Joint Chief Executive in 2006 and Managing Partner of the new Argent LLP in 2012 and became Senior Partner in 2019. He is now Chairman of the Related Argent Partnership.

David is currently a Trustee of the UKGBC and of the Landaid Charity and Chairman of the Governance Board of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. He also sits on the Advisory Boards of Construct Zero and Standard Gas Technologies Ltd.

David read architecture at Cambridge and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and has served on a number of RIBA practice committees.

Sarah Ratcliffe

Member of the Governance Board of the Standard and Chair of the Green Property Alliance, CEO, Better Buildings Partnership

Sarah is CEO of the Better Buildings Partnership, a collaboration of the UK’s leading commercial property owners who aim to deliver market transformation through sustainability leadership and knowledge sharing across the property industry. The BBP has 55 members with combined Assets Under Management (AUM) of +£340bn. Sarah spearheaded the market transformational BBP Climate Commitment and leads the BBP’s ground-breaking work programme including the Real Estate Environmental Benchmark, Design for Performance Initiative, ESG Training Programme for Asset Managers and the Owner and Occupier Forum. 

Sarah is also Chair of the Green Property Alliance, Board Director of the Sustainable Development Foundation, and an advisor to Property Market Analysis. Sarah contributes to numerous industry steering groups and committees including the Investment Property Forum, ESG Special Interest Group and the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard.
