This morning we held a session on the changes proposed by Government to the English planning system with Guy Bransby, Lead Director of Planning, Development & Heritage at JLL presenting.
This webinar covered three main areas:
- Amendments to the Use Classes Order and how this provides more flexibility to asset managers to enable building uses to change without the need for planning permission.
- Proposed changes to the Planning System overall, which are subject to consultation. This includes the re-zoning of land to make it easier to develop and the introduction of a new development tax based on land value.
- Overview of changes to permitted development rights for existing buildings, and how to preserve planning permissions in the current COVID pandemic.
