A high level summary of what’s being discussed in recent meetings:

  • Lobbying on the importance of working towards net zero.
  • Formation of a residential index - AREF and MSCI are liaising with residential fund managers on setting up a residential benchmark. The Working Group supports standardisation of reporting and believe transparency would bring credibility to the sector.
  • Standardising the definitions of residential sub-sectors.
  • Engagement with Government on key issues that affect residential funds. 
  • Lobbying with other associations on regulation in the residential sector.
  • Arranging residential themed events for AREF members.
