The UK's Modern Industrial Strategy 2025

Following on from their Green paper, the UK Government published the UK's Modern Industrial Strategy in June 2025. Alongside this 5 of the 8 sector plans have been published (Advanced Manufacturing, Creative Industries, Clean Energy Industries, Digital and Technologies and Professional and Business Services) with the plans for the other 3 sectors (Life Sciences, Defence, and Financial Services) following.

AREF looks forward in supporting the Government in achieving the aims of this strategy.

Green Paper: Invest 2035 - UK Modern Industrial Strategy

In October 2024, the Department for Business and Trade published a Green Paper on the Government's Industrial Strategy for the next 10 years. This focussed on driving growth in eight sectors:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Clean Energy Industries
  • Creative Industries
  • Defence
  • Digital and Technologies
  • Financial Services
  • Life Sciences
  • Professional and Business Services

AREF explained in its response, submitted on 22 November 2024, that for all of these growth-driving sectors real estate investment should be a foundational sector.
