2 July 2020 12.15pm – 1pm + Add to calendar Member Call Webinar

Dial in on Tuesday 2nd July at 12:15hrs for the Member Drop in session which this week will be dedicated to giving feedback on the Code of Practice for the Commercial Property Sector.

The Code of Practice for Commercial Property, released by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government, was negotiated over the last few weeks between the British Property Federation, the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, Revo, the RICS, the British Retail Consortium and UK Hospitality. For more information click here

AREF was asked last week at very short notice to endorse the Code but we have not done so as we need to seek member feedback, to establish whether or not there is a consensus in favour of endorsement.  We therefore invite our members to this online roundtable.

The event will start with an outline from Peter Cosmetatos, CEO of CREFC, who was involved in negotiating the Code.  We will then open the floor to questions and feedback with a view to establishing the consensus view of members with regard to endorsement.

SPEAKERS INCLUDE:

  • Intro & Moderator: Paul Richards, Managing Director at AREF
  • Peter Cosmetatos, Chirf Executive of CREFC

Peter Cosmetatos

Peter previously spent five years as British Property Federation Finance Policy Director, responsible for formulating and articulating industry views on finance, tax and regulation. These ranged from promoting Tax Increment Finance and REITs to exploring the implications of the property debt overhang and trying to protect the industry from inappropriate financial regulation.
