Social Value vs. Social Impact in Real Estate

Join us for a thought-provoking morning exploring how real estate contributes to social value and impact. This interactive seminar will bring together leading voices from across the industry to share real-world examples, practical insights and emerging approaches to defining, delivering and reporting social outcomes.

After a networking breakfast, we’ll hear a keynote presentation followed by a panel discussion covering:

• The difference between social value and social impact

• How organisations are putting this into practice

• The challenges of measurement, benchmarking and communication

The session will conclude with an audience Q&A and time for informal networking.

Speaker Biographies:

Alex Notay

Independent

Alexandra Notay is an internationally recognised expert on housing, placemaking and ESG. She has 20+ years’ strategic advisory and investment experience having worked extensively across four continents. In August 2024 Alex took over the chair of the Radix Big Tent Housing Commission from Dame Kate Barker and was the lead author on its first report.

Until July 2024 she was Placemaking and Investment Director at Thriving Investments (formerly PfP Capital), the fund and asset management arm of Places for People Group, overseeing a UK-wide residential strategy.

In October 2023 Alex won Residential Leader of the Year at the inaugural Property Week awards for Inspiring Women in Property.

Alex is Chair of the British Property Federation (BPF) working group on residential ESG, former Vice-Chair of the ULI UK Residential Council and currently serves on BPF’s Build to Rent and Sustainability Committees and AREF’s ESG / Impact Investing Committee

Alice Teboul

ESG Manager - Property Investments, Columbia Threadneedle

Alice is ESG Manager at Columbia Threadneedle Investments for its Real Estate (EMEA) division, working hand in hand with the Head of Sustainability (Real Estate EMEA).
Prior to this, she worked as senior analyst at Longevity Partners, a consulting firm dedicated to decarbonise real estate. As part of her work with Longevity Partners, Alice also worked as secondee at Tristan Capital Partners, acting as Sustainability Advisor. Prior to orienting her career in the real estate industry that she is passionate about, Alice worked as a Contractor at the United Nations Environment Programme (Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity) in Montreal, Canada. Alice holds a Master of Science (MSc) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Environment and Development, and a Bachelor degree from McGill University in International Development with Economics focus and Communications.

Gabriella Peerman

Assistant Portfolio Manager, Schroders

Gabriella is Assistant Portfolio Manager for Schroders Capital Real Estate Impact Fund, which is seeking to contribute to reducing social inequality in the UK through place-based impact investing, whilst delivering an appropriate financial return. Gabriella has over 5 years’ experience in the Real Estate fund management industry. Gabriella holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and graduated with a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of Exeter.
