The Social Mobility Working Group are looking at addressing the following:
External Pathways:
To improve the opportunities of people from less advantaged social backgrounds (e.g. social class, education, geographical location, ethnicity) in the UK and real estate industry, through a number of channels, including:
- Grass roots - student / school outreach / career advice / cultural inclusion
- Recruitment into real estate (including graduate process/Investment 2020/interview help)
- Property Bootcamp / learning & sharing of basic property industry knowledge
Internal Pathways:
To support / influence individuals or organisations that are already in the real estate industry, through:
- Internships/apprenticeships
- Mentoring programmes
- Internal development for all staff in a business
- Training: Leadership; Networking; Unconscious bias etc.
- Advice on interviewing; networking; climbing the ladder and other practices which some may not have had any experiences in
- Toolkits for businesses
