After 13 years, Clare Whyte is leaving the Association.
Clare has played an important role across our events, marketing, digital development and member engagement. She has overseen the FutureGen Committee from its conception to the present, including the launch of our flagship FutureGen Conference, launched the DEI Taskforce, and was involved in AREF’s strategic plan last year. She has also led projects such as the AREF Awards, Committee Days and led the delivery of AREF’s first large-scale conference last year.
Clare shared the following message:
“I have very much enjoyed my time at AREF, which has given me the chance to work with many fantastic members across the real estate funds industry. I would like to give a special mention to the late John Cartwright, who took me on as Communications Executive back in 2012, AREF has changed significantly since then ! I have worked with five Chairs who each brought their own perspective and as the team has grown, so have the association’s capabilities. I look forward to seeing RE:UK take shape next year as the work underway comes together, and I wish the AREF, BPF and IPF teams the very best as they move into this new phase.”
Paul Richards, CEO, shared the following message:
" During her time at AREF Clare has become the heart and soul of the Association with many close relationships across the membership and the team. We will miss her greatly and wish her the very best in her new role. She is joining a member so I have no doubt that we will be seeing her soon. I can only finish by thanking her for her immense contribution over the years to AREF and to the industry."
As we move into the RE:UK transition period, we are pleased to confirm that two new colleagues will be joining the team to support our work:
- Sam McKenna will take forward our digital and communications activity, including website, member comms and newsletters.
- Clare Reynolds will be working on the AREF events programme, supporting planning, logistics and on-the-day coordination.
Both will work closely with Mel and the wider Team to ensure continuity of service for all members.
