On 30 March 2023, HM Treasury published a Call for Evidence on the legislative aspects of the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR). Alongside this, the FCA and PRA published a joint discussion paper (PRA DP1/23 - FCA DP23/3) in which they review the effectiveness, scope, and proportionality of the regime. 

The deadline to respond to both the Call for Evidence and the Discussion Paper is Thursday 1 June 2023.

There are no specific real estate or real estate fund issues within the Call for Evidence or the Discussion Paper, therefore, with the agreement of AREF's Public Policy Committee, AREF doesn't plan to respond to either of them. However, if a member would like AREF to provide feedback to the Call for Evidence and/or the Discussion Paper please notify Jacqui Bungay, Policy Secretariat, AREF (jbungay@aref.org.uk).
