Guy Bransby, Lead Director of Planning, Development & Heritage at JLL will deliver this presentation and summarise the changes proposed by Government to the English planning system, it will cover:

  • The amendments to the Use Classes Order which have been in effect since 1st September, and how this provides more flexibility to asset managers to enable building uses to change without the need for planning permission.
  • The proposed changes to the Planning System overall, which are subject to consultation. This includes the re-zoning of land to make it easier to develop and the introduction of a new development tax based on land value.
  • An overview of changes to permitted development rights for existing buildings, and how to preserve planning permissions in the current COVID pandemic.
