Mark Bunney

Head of Indirect Property Investment, Kames Capital

Mark Bunney is Head of the Indirect Property team at Kames Capital and is responsible for their segregated mandates and fund of funds and as such is an investor in many of the AREF Member Funds.  A chartered surveyor by background , he has over 30 years’ experience investing in both physical property and UK and Continental European real estate funds.

Prior to Kames Capital, Mark was at ING Real Estate where he was instrumental in building the ING Real Estate Select business – this grew to include 25 segregated accounts and the UK’s largest property fund of funds which had more than 70 institutional investors. 

Zeynep Fetvaci

Managing Director, Funds Advisory EMEA, JLL, Jones Lang LaSalle

Zeynep is the co-head of EMEA for the Global Funds Advisory team, based in London. She is responsible for coordinating the firms coverage of indirect capital flows in EMEA into real estate focusing on joint ventures, separate accounts, club deals and commingled funds. Another important part of Zeynep’s role is to globally coordinate the firm’s efforts around real estate consultants; ensuring that we have a deep network of relationships with all the groups advising institutional investors in real estate.

 

Zeynep has over 20 years of relevant experience, specializing in real estate fundraising, investing and asset management. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Zeynep was a Managing Director at Hodes Weill & Associates where she was principally responsible for the coverage of institutional investors in Europe, including all the consultants. Previously, Zeynep was a Managing Director, Head of Business Development and Investor Relations at Peakside Capital where she was responsible for all aspects of business development and capital formation, as well as being a member of the Management Committee of the firm.

 

Zeynep has lived in the UK and the United States for the last 25 years. She is a Turkish/British dual national and speaks three languages. After receiving her undergraduate degree with Honors from Harvard University in the United States, Zeynep started her career in finance in the M&A department at Morgan Stanley in New York in 1999 after which she joined Merrill Lynch, the predecessor company to Peakside Capital.

John Forbes

Independent Consultant, John Forbes Consulting

John Forbes is an independent consultant advising real estate investment managers, investors and others in the real estate industry in the rapidly changing areas of product development, governance and regulatory matters for real estate funds.  He has advised on the restructuring of high profile open and closed-ended real estate funds in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, as well as the establishment of new funds. He has advised service providers to the real estate investment management industry on the strategic implications of regulatory and other changes.  Prior to setting up John Forbes Consulting LLP in 2013, he spent over twenty-five years with PwC, where he led the firm's Real Estate Industry Practice in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa across all of the firm's services to the real estate industry.

John is the chairman of the Independent Supervisory Board of the UBS Triton Property Fund, independent chair of the Urban Splash Residential Fund and non executive chairman of Ginkgo Advisor UK Limited.

Karen Fox

Fund Manager, Property, Aegon Asset Management (Kames Capital)

Karen is a fund manager in the property team and co-manages the Kames Property Income Fund.

She joined Kames Capital in 2016 following a career break, prior to which she was a fund manager at Aviva Investors responsible for three specialist property funds over her 8 years at Aviva. Prior to that, she worked at CBRE for 8 years in the national investment team.

Karen has a BSc Hons from Reading University and has 18 years’ industry experience. She is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

Naomi Green

Fund Manager, Schroders Real Estate Capital Partners

Naomi joined Schroders in 2016 as a fund manager in the SRECaP team.  She manages a number of segregated mandates and fund of funds products. She has experience in investing in UK and Continental European real estate funds and sits on a number of Investor Advisory Committees. She has been involved in the restructuring and modernisation of various specialist funds in the AREF Index.
 
Prior to Schroders Naomi was a Research Analyst and Investment Manager at Alecta and before that she was a Research Analyst at Henderson Global Investors and also JLL. She is a member of the IPF and SPR and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the IPF Diploma in Property Investment (DipIPF). She has an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from City University, London and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from City University, London.
