This interactive webinar is looking at how tokenisation can be implemented within the Real Estate industry. Attendees will hear from industry experts on the legal and regulatory issues applicable to tokenisation and how this affects member firms.

We will hear a walk through of the practical steps involved from our expert speakers; a compare and contrast on regulation vs a conventional deal; and a view from the fintech industry on adoption there.

Adi Ben-Ari

CEO and Founder, Applied Blockchain

Adi is founder & CEO at Applied Blockchain. He has over 25 years enterprise software experience, recently leading major deliveries of blockchain solutions for a range of clients across a number of industries. He is widely recognised as an independent thought leader in the industry, and his work has been noted by the UK Government, where he was invited to present at Parliament, the House of Lords, and also in academia at University College London. 

Victoria Dalziel

Associate Investment Director - Real Estate Product Strategy & Specialists, Aberdeen Standard Investments

Victoria is an Associate Investment Director in the Private Markets Product Strategy Team at Aberdeen Standard Investments. Her role within this team is product creation and launch with a focus on the real estate sector.

Victoria joined Standard Life Investments in 2016 where she worked in the direct real estate team as a portfolio manager primarily working with the Pooled Property Pension Fund, a £3.15bn fund focussing on prime UK properties.

She is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and graduated in Real Estate from the University of Aberdeen in 2016.

Charles Kerrigan

Partner, Banking & International Finance, CMS UK

The Blockchain Industry Landscape Overview 2018 names Charles as one of the UK’s leading influencers on blockchain. He is the UK’s “recommended lawyer” for blockchain and digital technology in the UK Parliament Hub. 
He is a lawyer specialising in finance and technology. He works on corporate finance and venture capital fundraising transactions for companies, funds, platforms and financial institutions. He works on consulting projects on blockchain, digital assets, AI and automation/transformation for public bodies, policy makers, standards institutions and corporate clients.  
Charles sits on the Bank of England’s Financial Markets Law Committee on Virtual Currencies; he is a board member of the Innovators Board at the Big Innovation Centre, named Think Tank of the Year 2018. 
He sits on the advisory boards of the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Artificial Intelligence (APPG AI) and the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain (APPG Blockchain). 
In November 2019 Charles was a Special Consultee to the UK LawTech Delivery Panel’s Legal Statement on Cryptoassets and Smart Contracts. 
He lectures on these topics, including at the LSE, UCL and City University.  
He was a panellist and moderator at the LMA Fintech and Annual Conferences and the ISDA Technology Conference in 2019.  He presented at the City University seminar: Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, Economics, Finance and Law; and at the Future of Finance: Tokenised Assets, London. 
In the last 12 months Charles worked on two of the largest TMT M&A transactions in Europe; over 30 funding transactions involving IP and intangible assets as the primary collateral; multiple online platform financings; and for over 25 clients with blockchain or tokenisation projects.

Alan Omogbai

Associate, CMS UK

Alan Omogbai is a Lawyer in the CMS Corporate Funds and Indirect Real Assets team in the London office. The team advises investors and fund managers on establishing, structuring, managing and lending to funds. Alan joined the firm as a trainee in 2018 and qualified into the team in 2020. He has corporate and commercial experience both in private practice and in-house. Previously, he has worked at Veolia UK, Mercedes-Benz and Wellcome Trust, and he was a policy advisor at HM Treasury for two years after graduating from university.

Alan is also an active participant on the firm’s EquIP programme in which he manages accounts for two Funds related clients. 

Claus Skaaning

Co-Founded and CEO, Digishares

Claus Skaaning has a PhD in computer science and has authored 7 patents in the field of AI. He has started several companies, including one in the AI space that he has taken to exit. He is advisor and mentor for many companies is the co-founder and CEO of DigiShares.
