Index Committee Biographies

Tom is Chair of AREF's Index Committee. Tom is a member of the Aegon Asset Management UK Indirect Property team with responsibility for managing various separate accounting mandates, developing new portfolio strategies, overseeing the team’s fund-research effort and sourcing secondary market opportunities. Prior to his current role, Tom worked for Aberdeen Standard Investments for five years, where he was a senior investment manager with a focus on discretionary institutional separate account mandates investing into commercial and residential property in the UK and globally via property funds. He has been in the industry since 2004 and started with Aegon Asset Management in 2018. Tom has a BA (Hons) in Politics, Economics and Social Studies from Trinity College, Dublin, an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Reading and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

Ray provides investment management oversight across Nuveen Real Estate, ensuring consistency in the investment process and performance culture.

He works closely with the investment and finance teams to ensure the business delivers investment performance for our clients. He is a member of the European and Asia Pacific investment and real estate debt investment committees, executive risk and compliance committee, operating committee, pricing committee and product committee.

Ray graduated with a B.Sc., Honours, in Land Management from the University of Reading. He is a member of the research and information committee for the Association of Real Estate Funds, and the U.K. MSCI real estate advisory group, and was appointed to the Management Board of the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (“INREV”) in 2019.

Ed leads the UK Consultant team in MSCI Real Estate and has been with MSCI for 3 years. Ed joined MSCI from Homes England where he was Head of Corporate Strategy and Development for the organisation. Prior to this Ed was part of the founding team at HCA-Investments responsible for building the Management Information Framework and Analytics platforms across debt and equity.

Ed started his career at IPD as an analyst going on to hold various positions within the UK business.

Sam Giet is responsible for the Portfolio Analytics to help drive investment and strategy decisions across BlackRock’s Real Estate platform.

Prior to this he was a member of the portfolio management team for the UK BlackRock Property Fund where he was responsible for overseeing the Fund strategy and portfolio monitoring.

Sam started his career at IPD as a performance analyst and product manager helping to design and implement new analytical tools.

Sam completed the CIPM program in 2016

Rob Maroldi is an executive director at PGIM Real Estate and a member of the Investment Risk Team. Based in Newark, New Jersey, Rob is the global head of performance, and responsible for firmwide performance measurement, attribution and analysis, in addition to overseeing compliance with industry reporting standards such as GIPS, and company policies and procedures for reporting performance.

Prior to joining PGIM Real Estate, Rob led the investment performance team at a business unit of Affiliated Managers Group (AMG) and was responsible for all GIPS compliance/verification, performance attribution analysis and reporting. Previous to that, he was vice president at BlackRock where he was responsible for GIPS compliance/verification, portfolio analytics, performance calculation and attribution, along with ensuring firmwide data integrity for all real estate funds. Prior, Rob held performance and analytical roles at SSR Realty Advisors, MetLife and Cigna HealthCare.

Katherine is a Manager in the Portfolio Analysis Team at M&G Real Estate, based in their London HQ. She is responsible for fund level and asset level performance analysis for M&G Real Estate's portfolios across the UK, Europe and Asia. Prior to M&G Real Estate, Katherine worked as a Performance Manager at Patrizia, working on London based portfolios investing in the UK and Europe. Katherine started as an Analyst at IPD (later on MSCI) in its Property Analysis Unit, working on UK commercial assets for UK based clients.

Jacqui is AREF’s Company Secretary and provides policy guidance and secretariat services to AREF’s Board and Management Committee as well as many of AREF's committees and working groups.

Jacqui joined AREF in 2014 after working for over 25 years in fund compliance, client relationships and administration in the trustee and depositary sector.
