Last month we welcomed a new Affiliate Member joining AREF, Carbon Intelligence. It is my pleasure to announce another five new members joining us as at 1st November. These new members, three Affiliates, one Associate, and a new residential Fund Member, all join us coinciding with the association’s new membership year.

This wave of new memberships is a testament to the value AREF continues to bring to our industry, perhaps particularly so during these more challenging times. This has been a huge year for the association. The tremendous work by all our member-led committees and working groups has been further augmented by the fantastic contributions from so many of our members across the association.

The words ‘Together we can make a difference’ really isn’t just some tag line dreamt up by the marketing team here at AREF HQ. I think it is a genuine belief held across the membership that through everyone coming together, working through challenges, discussing issues and debating new opportunities, we can make our industry better for everyone involved: fund managers, the various service providers and, importantly, ultimately the end-investors.

Of course, new members can, and do, start anytime during the year - fees are charged pro-rata. So please feel free to recommend AREF to anyone you think should be aboard, if they are not already!

In the meantime, the five new members we welcome this month are detailed below:

PfP Capital makes the transition from Associate to Fund Member, with the PfP Capital MMR Fund. PfP Capital have been Associates for a number of years, while they have been developing their fund management business. The MMR Fund, managed by William Kyle, aims to offer investors stable, CPI linked, returns through the development of mid-market rental homes within commuting distance of Scotland’s main cites.

BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management, the European commercial real estate fund manager with over €30bn AUM, joins as an Associate Member.

State Street Trustees, the fund depositary well known to AREF already through working with DATA, the Depositary and Trustee Association, joins as an Affiliate Member.

Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC are a global professional services firm, employing over 5,000 people across 25 countries and they too join as an Affiliate Member.

Burges Salmon LLP are an independent UK law firm and we welcome them also as an Affiliate Member.

Welcome all, we look forward to working with you!
