The AREF Annual Awards 2024

Each year the Association gives out a number of awards to recognise achievement and contribution, by our members and others who support the work of AREF.

In 2024 we will have four awards:

  • Outstanding Fund Achievement (open to our Fund Members with a submission required to enter)
  • The AREF Research Award (open to all Members with a submission required to enter)
  • Affiliate of the Year (open to all Affiliate Members - members are nominated by the AREF Team and then a poll takes pace for the AREF Board, Management Committee & Team to vote)
  • The John Cartwright Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution (open to all Members - candidates are nominated by the AREF Team and then a poll takes pace for the AREF Board, Management Committee & Team to vote.

Submissions for awards will open on in Q124 and the awards will be presented at the Annual Dinner at a date to be confirmed (late Sep/early October 2024).

The package includes a huge amount of digital comms from March when the submissions open, through the summer when nominations are announced and post-awards ceremony when we annouce the winners and send out recorded interviews with some of the winners.

Cost: £8,000 + VAT

The sponsorship package will incude:

  • Acknowledgement and logo on all digital promotional campaigns leading up to the opening of the Submissions (March Newsletter, dedicated member emails, on the AREF website, on our social networks).
  • Acknowledgement and logo on all reminders throughout April and May (March, April and May Newsletter, dedicated member emails, on the AREF website, on our social networks).
  • Acknowledgement and logo on all posts building up to awards ceremony, as nominations & short-lists are revealed (June/July Newsletter and June/July posts). These include eye catching social media campaigns (example social post).
  • Sponsor’s logo to be included on:
    • The Annual Awards page of the AREF website (link);
    • The Awards page on the dedicated webpage for the Annual Dinner, hosted on the AREF website;
    • On the slides relating to the Awards in the Chairman’s speech at the Annual Dinner;
    • A mention/thank you by the Chairman at the Annual Dinner;
    • A dedicated slide in the rolling video in the main ballroom shown on the large stage screen throughout the evening at The Annual Dinner.
    • The opportunity to show one pop-up banner at the entrance to the main Lancaster Ballroom at the Annual Dinner.
    • Acknowledgement and logo on social posts throughout the Awards ceremony on the evening of the Annual Dinner (example post).
  • Acknowledgement and logo on post-event communications announcing the Winners (on the AREF website, in our press release, in the September/October Newsletter, in the write-up on our website (example), including links to photos) and also on LinkedIn (example post).
  • Acknowledgement and logo on both the recorded interviews with the winner of the AREF Research Award & the winner of the Outstanding Fund Achievement, to be released after the Dinner.  These will be published on the AREF website, the monthly Newsletter and on social posts (examples of the recorded interviews can be found here and here).
  • Our awards campaign social posts receive high engagement rates on LinkedIN (the one sent the day after the dinner for example had a 21% engagement rate with over 2500 impressions).

Clare is responsible for all aspects of the planning, development and execution of the marketing strategy for AREF. 

Clare leads on event management, liaising with committees and members to schedule, plan and deliver an effective events calendar for the association.  She also has overall responsibility for brand, as well as the design, development and production of marketing across both digital and offline channels, including the website.
