The AREF Code of Practice for 2023 and the online Self Certification Process for 2023 is now open.

Our unique Code of Practice is widely recognised as the gold standard in corporate governance.  Its aim is to encourage the members of AREF to adopt best investment practice wherever possible and is reviewed at least annually by AREF's Corporate Governance Committee.

AREF fund members must confirm their compliance with our Code of Practice each year. Effectively, this is our equivalent to the globally successful Stewardship Code.

Actions for Fund Members

Please log-in to the AREF website and complete the Self Certification Process for your fund/s.  Full instructions can be found here.  Where possible, we have ensured your answers are pre-populated from the 2022 review.

Timing

The deadline for completion is Friday 30th June 2023.

Once we receive your submission we will verify your ratings.  If we are happy your fund is complying with the Code of Practice 2023, we will publish your submission ratings alongside other AREF funds on our unique Self Certification Matrix.  Your fund will also be awarded the 2023 Quality Mark.

We encourage you and all fund members to display the Quality Mark in your fund's marketing collateral and client reporting.
